The planning Committee operated in an open transparent, equal and democratic manner. Everyone had an equal say, the chairing of the meetings we rotated, and everyone had a chance to chair the meetings. This was most enriching for all of us. Every single person contributed and this glorious event possible. Every detail was workshopped and dealt with from the water, personalised gifts to seating plan.

To all our wonderful friends and colleagues gathered here tonight, a truly massive THANK YOU for joining us to celebrate this special occasion
Your presence makes this event truly meaningful.

Heartfelt appreciation to all our wonderful sponsors, who chose to remain anonymous.
It would however be remiss of me not to mention the financial contribution of our Planning Committee, each of whom making a significant contribution amounting to more than half of the total cost of this elaborate setup.

While we spent 2 hours for almost every week in our planning meeting for almost the whole of the last year, while time consuming, was almost always mostly fun but with some particular, mentionable :

The Planning Committee ...

1. Vanessa - took the enormous task of promoting the event, communicating with, and finalizing the attendees, collecting contributions etc, in the middle of her other personal commitments, is beyond words.

2. Suraya – While this was a social event, kept team up to date in recording the meeting with orderly professionalism akin to that of the highest corporate standard. Here too, invaluable contribution that made this exercise so smooth.

3. Neville – providing such direction to the team, helping everyone keep their eye on the ball with vision of the delivering of a truly memorable event. Bringing his pervious experiences and adapting them to this event was centre us meeting our goal. His artistic qualities also complimented the design team.

4. Surey – Truly a visionary – allowing all of us to imagine and then making it happen. Top negotiator helping us to deliver this event with the splendour that you are experiencing with scary precision. Your art is unique. And with a nurturing nature, managed to keep the fun factor alive right through.

5. Rajen – Co-ordinator/Accountant/Banker – Made this journey so easy for all of us. Your contribution guided the team in managing priorities, keeping the focus and managing this bunch. His leadership qualities were tested and we are here – he succeeded.

6. Yvonne – Ever the obliging member of the team – using her contacts to get the best services to make this event successful. Also, quite the negotiator complimenting the efforts of the team.

7. Vernon – Our favourite Chairperson – Kept meetings focused, and most recognizably, cut to the chase and helped us make decisions easier. While jovial at times, brought maturity to the team when needed.

8. Noel – Was the auditor, he made sure that accounting principles were followed. He taught us about incidentals, gave direction when we were in doubt and rarely made jokes. He brought to us the seriousness that the planning required.

9. Indy – Although in the midst of planning 2 weddings, managed to attend a meeting or 2 with her invaluable contribution.

10. Jayne- our China – thank you for making time despite time differences and help with planning.

11. Anisa – our darling friend – who unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances could not attend online meetings. But your contribution to the Venue and Menu team was greatly appreciated

To truly appreciate the depths of effort and the journey to bring us all together tonight, I hand over to my lovely co-host.
