Guest Speaker Address

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It’s an honour to be here tonight, as the guest of honour, at this milestone 40th year reunion of the 1985 Matric graduates of Asoka High School. Seeing so many familiar faces brings back a flood of memories and I am indeed proud to be a part of this special occasion. To the members of the organising committee I want to thank you for honoring me as you chief guest on this momentous occasion. I also wish to thank the committee for the time and effort you have put in to ensure that this occasion is attended by most of our Asokan graduates and the educators of 1985... continued. (S. MARI)

On behalf of the Committee and myself I want to thank you all for taking the time to reconnect and celebrate this significant milestone anniversary. It’s a testament to the enduring bonds forged within the classroom walls of Asoka High School, and I feel privileged have been a part of that journey...

To My Dear Class of 1985

I would be lying if I told you that I remember all of you and the episodes that you and I encountered during the five years (1981- 1985) of our journey at Asoka High School. I would , however, be grateful if some of you could refresh my memory during the course of this function of some of the encounters, both good and bad, we had during our five years together at Asoka High. Bad encounters I cannot recall any that come to mind. Maybe Neville Dhanasur Dwarika would disagree with me and refresh my memory.

It’s inspiring to see how you all have embraced the challenges and achieved your goals . As teachers/ educators , we at Asoka High have always believed in the power of mentorship and guidance. We’ve tried to instill in each of our charges/ pupils the importance of perseverance , curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning. It’s gratifying to to see how you all have embraced these principles in your lives.

As we celebrate this 40th year reunion , let’s also acknowledge the bright future ahead of us. I am positive that you will continue to make a positive impact on the world and I’m excited to see what you will accomplish in the years to come.

In closing I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for the joy you’ve brought into my life. It’s been an honour to have been you teacher , and now I am proud to call you my friends . May this reunion be a wonderful celebration of your achievements , friendship and shared memories.
